Max. size:  12 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 100 m
Distribution:  Circumglobal tropical, temperate seas and the Mediterranean Sea.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Assumed maximum length from Ref. 822. Found on reefs (Ref. 337) and burrowing or under rocks (Ref. 844). Also on soft substrate (Ref. 109264). Feeds on sponges (Ref. 844).

Country info:  Known from Tasmania at depths of 0 to 100 m (Ref. 7727); and eastern Australia south to 24°S (Ref. 337).
