Distribution:  Western Atlantic Ocean.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Makes burrows on sandy upper-intertidal and supratidal substrates like marshes and bays. Found beneath and behind mangroves Rhizophora mangle and Avicinia germinans that border the island. Constructs two kinds of burrows: one used as refuge by non-breeding crabs during high tide and at night after feeding bouts, and another as breeding burrows (Ref. 104852). Exhibits diurnal deposit-feeding (Ref. 111607).
