Distribution:  Indo-Pacific and the Central Atlantic: Red Sea to Gulf of Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Maximum depth from Ref. 116444. Found in offshore sediments (Ref. 84225). On live corals, Tridacna, dead coral fragments, and calcareous algae in the coral reef zone (Ref. 91216). Many ostracods are suspension feeders; some are carnivores, herbivores or scavengers (Ref. 833).
