Distribution:  Indo-Pacific, Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean.
Diagnosis:  Culmen: 10.81 cm; tarsus: 6.2 cm; wing: 44.4 cm.
Biology:  Total Length: 81 to 92 cm; Wingspan: 152 cm (Ref. 8812). Largest and heaviest booby (Ref. 91362). Occupies the continental shelf, <100 km offshore (Ref. 356). Colonial breeder on marine islands. Moderately gregarious at sea. Does not typically trail ships. Prefers to fish in deep waters (Ref. 91362). Exhibits plunge-diving (Ref. 356, 91362).
