Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: New Zealand and Kermadec.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found from depths of 5 to 40 m on reefs, generally under overhangs (Ref. 337). Single valves, often of large size, commonly washed up on the beaches (Ref. 88739).
