Environment:  benthic; marine
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: from East Africa to western Polynesia, north to Japan and south to Queensland.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occasionally used as food by coastal populations in the Southeast Asian region (Ref. 349). Found on shore rocks at about the mid-tide line (Ref. 799). Grazers (Ref. 99836).
