Environment:  benthic; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Northeast Atlantic, the Mediterranean and Indo-Pacific.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Species' maximum length from the Belgian part of the North Sea (Ref. 7882). Found in estuarine and inshore areas (Ref. 96352) along the coastal zone, preferring fine-grained sediment with low mud content (maximum of 20%) (Ref. 7882). Inhabits fine well sorted sand (Refs. 2780, 96352). A carnivore-scavenger (Ref. 96352).
