Distribution:  Western Atlantic: USA and West Indies to Colombia and Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in seagrass beds and sandy bottoms, in littoral and sublittoral areas (Ref. 83922). Also on rubble and other submerged vegetation (Ref. 97531).
