Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 2 - 100 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic and Eastern Pacific: from Mexico to Peru.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Total length range: 2.7 to 5.0 cm (male); 3.6 to 9.9 cm (female). Carapace length range: 0.6 to 1.1 cm (male); 0.8 to 2.5 cm (female) (Ref. 8). This is a benthic species found in sandy bottoms (Ref. 83922).
