Max. size:  30 cm WD (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean: Portugal, Gibraltar, Angola, Mauritania and West Africa.
Diagnosis:  Up to 60 m wide, usually highly arched, thick and rigid, exumbrella finely granulated; 8 to 12 small velar lappets per octant; total length of mouth-arms about equal to disk diameter, proximal portion about as long as distal 3-winged portion, terminal clubs about one-third of the total length of the arms, triangular in cross section; sub genital papillae represented by a thickened valve on the outer edge of each sub genital pit.
