Family:  Muricidae (purpuras, murex and rock shells)
Max. size:  2.74 cm SHL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Southeast and Northeast Asia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Known from mangroves in Hong Kong (Ref. 112938). In moderate to fully exposed shores. Shell serves as a substratum for the barnacle Amphibalanus amphitrite (Ref. 127116).
