Environment:  reef-associated; brackish; marine; depth range 5 - 18 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic.
Diagnosis:  Scarlet red to orange. Cylindrical branches, single or divided. Spiny, round and blunt processes present on surface.
Biology:  Occurs on coral reef bottoms at depths between 0.5 to 35 m (Ref. 81712). Also found in mangroves (Ref. 86836), and rocky bottoms (Ref. 83912).
