Environment:  sessile; marine; depth range 0 - 426 m
Distribution:  Arctic, Northeast Atlantic, Pacific Ocean and the Antarctic. Temperate and polar.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Prominent upright orange to brown sponge with smooth surface and many oscula, which may spread 30 cm across and 30 cm in height (Ref. 865) Maximum depth from Ref. 121145. Found in shallow reefs (Ref. 865).
