Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean and Western Central Atlantic.
Diagnosis:  Pericentral cells: less than 6. Dark red thalli, with erect filaments dichotomously branched. Widely divergent branced; decumbent in older parts and attached to substratum. Spherical pericarps (Ref. 87158).
Biology:  Occurs in reef ridges at depth between 10 to 25 m. Epiphytic on Dictyota (Ref. 87158).
