Distribution:  Atlantic, the Mediterranean and Indo-Pacific. Tropical to temperate.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Marine, planktonic (Ref. 1134). Exhibits vertical migration (Ref. 3482). Found at depths to 150 m (Ref. 2376).
