Max. size:  6.5 cm ML (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 860 m
Distribution:  Southwest Atlantic and Antarctic.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Maximum depth from Ref. 100731. Maximum total length is 21 cm (Ref. 96968). Survives in cold waters of the Antarctic through increased haemocyanin concentration relative to two octopods Octopus pallidus and Eledone moschata, enabling it to have improved oxygen transport in its tissues despite poor oxygen unloading (Ref. 100739).
