Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 4 - 500 m
Distribution:  Arctic, Northern Pacific, Northern Atlantic and the Mediterranean: from Japan to Arctic Alaska, south to California and east to Svalbard.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Abundant in sandy mud (Ref. 123430). Reported from Hong Kong to be found on the ceilings and walls of submarine caves (Ref. 126058).
