Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean and Black Sea: from Andhra Pradesh south to New Zealand, Caribbean, north to Kola Russia and Romania.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits muddy sand areas (Ref. 125409). Selectively feeds on diatoms, bacteria, and plant and animal debris (Ref. 87179).
