Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 12 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific and the Mediterranean Sea. Tropical and subtropical.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Common in hard-bottom communities (Ref. 107188). Probably omnivores and scavengers as some species have been observed feeding on algae while others feed on invertebrates (e.g. ascidians) and carrion (Ref. 107862).
