Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; brackish; marine; depth range 0 - 366 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean, Northeast Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Species' maximum length from the Belgian part of the North Sea (Ref. 7882). Found in estuarine and inshore areas and sandbanks (Ref. 96352). Abundant along the coastal zone to the open sea. A free-living bristle worm found in a range of sediment types from muddy to coarse sand (Ref. 7882). A carnivore-scavenger that exhibits cannibalism (Ref. 96352).
