Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: USA and Caribbean.
Diagnosis:  Only oscular areas are visible as orange-yellow patches. Buried surfaces or free sides have circular grooves, contracting when handled and forming warts. Encrusting. Consistency: crumbly, soft.
Biology:  Found in mangroves (Ref. 86836).
