Environment:  sessile; marine; depth range 20 - 72 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea.
Diagnosis:  Thick masses with conical or lobed oscular elevations. Heavily fouled surface, with elongated, meandering grooves of clean tissue as inhalant areas. Orange to orange-yellow. Moprhology: lobate, massive, tube. Consistency: crumbly, tough.
Biology:  Maximum depth reported taken from Ref. 128739. Inhabits coralline algae reefs, algal nodules, and lower mesophotic reefs (Ref. 128739).
