Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 4 - 250 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific. From Gulf of Suez south to Inhaca Mozambique, north to Niigata Japan and east to Limones, Ecuador. Introduced in the Mediterranean.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Minimum depth from Ref. 121747. Estuarine, intertidal species (Ref. 121747). Also found in corals (Refs. 3612, 122837) and shallow subtidal waters (Ref. 105316). Found on rocks and rubbles (Ref. 99823).
