Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 40 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea.
Diagnosis:  Formation: thin laminae, at times conforming to substrate shape; attached centrally or at a side. Radiating ridges or valleys absent. Corallite centers parallel to plate margins. Color: dark gray brown or bluish brown, may be mottled (Ref. 848).
Biology:  Occurs in lower reef slopes away from wave action (Ref. 848).
