Distribution:  Northern Atlantic and the Arctic: USA and Canada, Baltic Sea and Laptev Sea. Temperate to polar.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A boreal species commonly found on rock walls. Feeds on ultraplankton (heterotrophic bacteria, cyanobacteria, picoeucaryotes and nanoeucaryotes) by active suspension feeding. Multioscular; oscula responds negatively to touch by closing (Ref. 96635).
