Distribution:  Western Atlantic: From North Carolina, USA to Gulf of Mexico and Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Associated with aquatic vegetation (Ref. 97531). Inhabits primarily hard surfaces, common on sand; occurs on rock, coral and grassy areas; also among hydroids and oyster beds (Ref. 95880).
