Family:  Penaeidae (penaeid shrimps)
Max. size:  9.7 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; brackish; marine; depth range 6 - 45 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: India to Japan and Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Maximum carapace length: 1.75 cm (female) (Ref. 8). Inhabits mud or sandy-mud in estuaries, backwaters and near-shore waters to a depth of 45 m (Ref. 10). Also found in seagrass, mangrove and among shells (Ref. 121467).
