Family:  Veneridae (venus clams)
Max. size:  6 cm SHL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 20 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: from the Gulf of Aden to Papua New Guinea; north to southern Japan and south to Queensland.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  This species has relatively long siphons for the genus, and can therefore burrow to a depth of approximately 8 cm (Ref. 348). Intertidal, on sand (Ref. 75840). Also found in mangrove areas (Ref. 128397).
