Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 30 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Philippines to Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Formation: hemispherical and often exceeds 2 m across, if well developed. Corallites: large, averaging 50 mm diameter; becomes flabello-meandroid with 1 to 3 centers. Tall, sharp teeth in septa. Polyps: thick, fleshy, rough surface; margins extended in a distinct serrated rim. Color: blue-gray to mustard, white polyp margins (Ref. 848).
Biology:  Occurs in protected upper reef environments (Ref. 848).
