Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic, Indo-Pacific and the Mediterranean Sea.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Maximum depth from Ref. 112705. Found in coral reefs (Ref. 83919). Found at the surface on a floating log (Ref. 78667). This species excretes a neurotoxin that causes irritation and a burning sensation on human skin (Ref. 85730).
