Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Rarely occurs intertidally but extends down to 70 m on fine sand. Important source of primary production, nursery ground and is grazed by fish (Siganus, Zebrasoma), turtles and dugongs (Ref. 801).
