Family:  Psammobiidae (sunset clams, sanguins)
Max. size:  5 cm SHL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 5 - 40 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: from the Red Sea and Sri Lanka to Melanesia; north to Japan and south to central New South Wales.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  More or less deeply buried in fine sandy to muddy bottoms (Ref. 345).
