Family:  Fasciolariidae (horse conchs, spindle shells)
Max. size:  20 cm ShH (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 40 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: from East Africa to Melanesia; north to southern Japan, and south to southern Queensland.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Commonly collected by shrimp trawlers, sometimes in large quantities (Ref. 349). Dredged alive in 30 m near Meyer Island (Ref. 88739).
