Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean: France to Angola (Ref. 438). Turkey, Mediterranean Sea. Fissurella nubecula var. ex forma squamifera in Aegean Sea (Ref. 2754).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Collected from the sublittoral zone, from low tide up to a depth of 200 m. On rock exposed by the low tide (Ref. 417). Collected from the supralittoral and mediolittoral or intertidal zones (Ref. 2754). Occurs at the low tide mark.
