Family:  Ficidae (fig shells)
Max. size:  13 cm ShH (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 40 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: from East and South Africa, to Melanesia; north to Japan, and south to New South Wales.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occasional bycatch (Ref. 349). Low tide fringe. Common in shallow water. Occurs at the low tide mark (Ref. 349). In general, members of the family Ficidae are carnivores (Ref. 67623).
