Family:  Delphinidae (marine or true dolphins)
Max. size:  260 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 225 kg
Environment:  pelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 759 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Atlantic Ocean and Indo-Pacific. Tropical, subtropical.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  In offshore waters. Generally in herds of fewer than 50 individuals (Ref. 801). Feeds on fish and squid; occasionally they attack other dolphins (Ref. 1394).
