Distribution:  Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic Oceans. Mostly polar, but also in subtropical, tropical and boreal.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Minimum depth from Ref. 116013. Colonial (Ref. 19). Epibiotic (Ref. 116013). Known from mangroves (Ref. 86642), tidal inlets, exposed areas of bays, including any ledges at their entrance, sounds, caves, shallow reefs, deeper coastal substrates (25-100m) of the offshore fore-reef slope, surface or near surface water layers, including porpitids and the halopelagic Sargassum sp. fauna and banks (Refs. 86643).
