Family:  Fissurellidae (keyhole limpets)
Max. size:  4.5 cm NG (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 500 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic.
Diagnosis:  Shell of medium size, elliptical. Sculpture of alternating large and small ribs, with a riblet in the interspaces (total of 3 rib sizes) crossed by distinct concentric cords. Margin crenulated. Orifice keyhole-shaped. Distinguished from Diodoro cayenensis by much coarser sculpture and alternating large and small radial ribs. Colour: cream to grey with darker radial bands.
Biology:  This species is found in cienaga facies, and coral reefs in intertidal areas and offshore. It inhabits algae, ascidians, corals, rocks, rubble, shells, sand and wood (Ref. 83934). It persists on rocky and other hard substrates, present in coral reef environments (Ref. 355).
