Distribution:  Cosmopolitan.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Azooxanthellate (Refs. 116012, 121684). Found on a rocky reef (Ref. 121684). In deep waters (Ref. 80485); 50 m Norwegian fjords to 3600 m Mid-Atlantic ridge (Ref. 810), in bathyal zones (Ref. 85338).
