Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 35 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: East Africa to western Polynesia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Locally collected for food. Shell used in the shellcraft industry (Ref. 349). Usually under boulders and slabs, often in small groups (Ref. 349).
