Distribution:  Northwest Pacific, Arctic, Atlantic Oceans and the Mediterranean. Mostly polar, but also in tropical, temperate and boreal climates.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Common in tidepools (Ref. 7952). Found on brown algae, man-made floats and ships (Ref. 120463).
