Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 55 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Gulf of Mexico to Caribbean Sea.
Diagnosis:  Colonies are large and hemispherical or encrusting. Septa are exerst, equal, and finely toothed. A fine ambulacral groove occurs along the tops of walls.
Biology:  Zooxanthellate (Ref. 116012). Common throughout the Caribbean on reef tops (Ref. 415).
