Family:  Lucinidae (lucinas)
Max. size:  10 cm SHL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 20 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: East Africa to eastern Polynesia. Tropical to subtropical.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Locally collected as food; the shell is for lime or shellcraft (Ref. 348). Buried in sand between shale blocks and in coral reef areas (Ref. 348).
