Family:  Clionaidae (Boring sponges)
Max. size:  0.2 cm OT (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; brackish; marine; depth range 1 - 70 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic.
Diagnosis:  Thin encrusting; 0.2 cm thick; continuously covering the substratum. Brown to gray in color. Oscula: 0.2 - 0.3 cm wide with a cream colored rim. Papillae may be distinguished on small specimens or growing on rims (Ref. 415).
Biology:  Maximum thickness: 0.2 cm (Ref. 415). Mostly deeper than 6 m, sometimes in shallow rubble (Ref. 415). Also occurs in mangrove ponds (Ref. 86789).
