Family:  Vermetidae (worm shells)
Max. size:  45 cm SHL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Traditionally collected for food in eastern Polynesia. Abundant on the outer parts of coral reefs, partly imbedded among corals (Ref. 349). Known as a ciliary feeding species. Consumes zooplankton and phytoplankton via mucus-net feeding (Ref. 66969).
