Color varies from pale translucent yellow to bright orange. Mature specimens entirely orange, with gonads showing as white patches along the lateral body margins. Has a large, distinct mouth. The bluntly rounded head is slightly narrower than the trunk, and the body is widest in its anterior quarter. |
Found under boulders or rocks in coarse sand (Ref. 125683). Also found on rock pools (Ref. 126155). |
