Family:  Callochitonidae ()
Max. size:  1.905 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 100 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: USA, Brazil and the West Indies.
Diagnosis:  Body: Oblong. Valves: Colored gray to greenish brown, or speckled with red; strongly sculptured. Lateral areas: Strongly elevated by 3 or 4 very coarse large, beaded ribs. Jugal tract: Longitudinal rows of fine beads. Central areas: Twelve very sharp, granulose, longitudinal ribs. Girdle: Very fine scales and an occasional single hair (Ref. 281).
Biology:  Under rocks, is not rare in coralline reefs, biĆ³topo of Porites (Ref. 292); intertidal and sublittoral, under stones (Ref. 2022, page 121).
