Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 2 - 500 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: From North Carolina to Belize, Costa Rica and Panama; throughout the Caribbean and south to Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Maximum length measurement used is central disk diameter. Minimum depth from Ref. 83942. This is a subtidal species found on rocky and sandy bottoms and in coral reefs at depths of 2 to 70 m (Ref. 83942).
