Distribution:  Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found off coast, in open seas (Ref. 7882) as well as shallow coastal areas in depths of less than 70m (Ref. 96521) but generally in coarse sediment with less than 10% mud content (Refs. 7882, 96521). A surface deposit feeder (Refs. 3477, 87179).
