Ecology of Fissurella latimarginata

Main Ref. Servicio Nacional de Pesca y Acuicultura., 2011
Remarks Occurs from rocky shore of intertidal and subtidal zones (Ref. 105479). Specifically in lowermost intertidal zone in partially protected areas, exposed on the upper surfaces of rocks (Ref. 105490). Associated with kelp beds (Ref. 92519). In general, members of Fissurellinae are reported to be herbivorous, feeding mainly on algae while others are omnivorous, consuming sponges and detrital matter (Ref. 105343). Herbivore but reported to incidentally ingest small mollusks from substrate during grazing activities (Ref. 105486).
